:: Ben Milner : pastor of preaching & evangelism ::
Ben Milner is the founding pastor of Salem Presbyterian. Ben preaches most Sundays at Salem and loves to pray and take walks. He is the moderator of our the elders, and he oversees hospitality for newcomers and new members. A former skeptic himself, Ben is passionate about meeting with people who are inquiring or skeptical about Christianity.
He and his two brothers grew up on the campus of Wake Forest University where his dad taught for over 50 years. Ben was a physics major (and atheist) at Wake Forest but a dramatic conversion in London changed the course of his professional life. While in London, he fell in love with Margie Morgan, now his wife, and the God that she worshipped.
Ben graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary in 2002 and immediately took a position at Redeemer Presbyterian Church, the same church that he had attended as a student starting in 1992, shortly after his conversion.
Ben was called as an assistant pastor in 2004 and charged with starting an evening service at 5pm. Over the next few years, the congregation grew and took on an identity of its own. In 2011, the '5pm Service' decided to move into the sanctuary of Green St. Methodist Church. In 2013 we officially became our own separate church, Salem Presbyterian Church. Ben has been highly involved in the ministry of RUF for our Presbytery. His own conversion in college and his love of universities had focused much of his ministry on work with college students.
